Lunchbreak Concerts

Our popular series of Lunchbreak Concerts starts again this October with an exciting programme in the Cowdray Hall under the artistic direction of Roger B. Williams, University of Aberdeen.

Concerts run from 12.45-1.30pm and admission is free although donations are welcome. Saturday concerts, presented by sound, North East Scotlands' festival of new music, run from 1-1.45pm

A sandwich lunch, provided by the friends of Aberdeen Art Gallery & Museums, can be purchased on a Thursday only.

Musicians from St. Margaret's School
Some of Aberdeen's most talented musicians give a concert of varied music.

Thursday 18 March
Gamelan
The University of Aberdeen Gamelan perform a traditional shadow puppet play from Bali bringing to life the Tale of Ramayana.

Thursday 25 March
Raemond Jappy (Fiddle) & Maureen Rutherford (Piano)
Programme of Scottish fiddle music by the reigning Glenfiddich Fiddle Champion.

Thursday 8 April
Betsy Taylor (Cello) & Anna Mavromatidi (Piano)
Features Poulenc's rarely performed Sonata and Debussy's ever-popular Sonata.
Presented in association with the Friends' Circle of RSNO.

Thursday 15 April
Music from Fyvie Castle
A varied selection of music comprising songs and instrumental music.
In association with National Trust Scotland.

Heather Ireson (Mezzo Soprano) & Roger B. Williams (Piano)
Frauenliebe und Leben: Schumann.

Thursday 29 April
Students from the University
Cheryl Bell (Oboe), Kay Ritchie (Flute) and Kevin Philip (Guitar).

Thursday 6 May
Edinburgh Quartet
Scotland's only full time professional string quartet returns with a recently discovered work - etwas zurückhaltend - by the Scottish composer James MacMillan and the Quartet in B flat K.458: Mozart.
